We want to congratulate our very own Dr. Steven van den Heuvel on the successful defence of his dissertation (“Bonhoeffer’s Christocentric Theology and Fundamental Debates in Environmental Ethics”). This was the first joint doctorate awarded by the ETF in cooperation with the Theological University in Kampen, the Netherlands.
Steven was a doctoral candidate with ILE, taking part regularly in ILE activities. He last presented in a previous breakfast seminar “Finance today: What would Bonhoeffer say?” as well as contributed a paper in the latest ILE Conference “The Dangers of Charismatic Leadership: A Perspective from the Theology of Dietrich Bonhoeffer”.
Currently, he works as parttime academic assistant at both ETF and the Theologische Universiteit Kampen. He is also a steering committee member as well as research fellow at the Institute for Leadership and Ethics (ILE, associated with ETF). He would like to focus on the area of Economic Ethics, as it relates to anthropology in his postdoctoral research.
